Reflection

Congratulations. You've passed your Digital Citizenship exam. Hopefully you are now more informed about the consequences of your online actions and the higher expectations we need to have of each other.  Please take a moment and write a paragraph of your reaction to the presentations of your classmates. What did you take away from the experience?

Comments

  1. What I've taken away is that I need to take better care on the internet when I'm using an unfamiliar website and to make sure me and the other person are on the same level when we communicate. If i learn to check the websites security, I'm less likely to be scammed and I'll be keeping myself and my information safe. Also, if me and the person I'm speaking too, even when using emojis, are on relatively the same page there will be less misunderstanding and less anger and confusion. How to keep myself safe on the internet and how to communicate better is what I learned from this project.

  2. From my group's presentation, I learned how to safely buy products online. This will be extremely helpful in the future because I now know how to avoid being scammed. From the Digital Communications presentation, I learned that sometimes my view of an emoji can be different than someone else's, and I shouldn't jump to assumptions about what they mean. From the Digital Security presentation, I learned to never share passwords with ANYONE so I can avoid being hacked. I also learned not to make my passwords obvious. Overall, I feel like I learned how to be safer on the internet.

  3. I though that it was fun to watch all the presentations. I loved watching the bloopers because they were really funny. I learned a lot from the other groups' presentation. I have learned to be careful with what I see online and to not trust everything on the internet. I also learned that the use of emoji's can be misinterpreted. Also, you can also get hacked or can get your personal information leaked if you are not careful. I will learn to remember these problems in the future and if I remember them, I will be more safe and secure. The internet can spread false information and is a very dangerous place.

  4. "The Nerds" did an amazing presentation on digital commerce. They took a real life situation and made it apply to our lives as young teenagers. THis was to better get the message along and it was an effective method. As for "The Shisters", they presented their problem to us using things we use/see everyday. Both groups effectively got their messages across using different tactics.

  5. Before I did not realize that the internet could be so harmful and that you have to be extra careful the different presentations, helped me see the many possible issues that you have to look for. And looking at the data, it seems that many people do not know how to protect themselves or even that they have to be careful using the internet in the first place. After watching the three presentation I feel that I can protect myself and be more aware when going on a website, buying products online, and overall going on the internet.

  6. I enjoyed watching my classmates present. Finally watching how much hard work was completed during these few weeks and how proud they were of their accomplishment was joyous because I shared the same feeling. Of course, my favorite part to watch were bloopers and laughing along with my classmates at their goofiness in between takes. Overall, it was a great occasion.

  7. I believe that my classmates and I have all done well on our presentations. We explained are topics well and made sure everything was clear and easy for us to understand. Even some of the topics presented were relatable. Through these presentations I have learned to be careful of what I see and do online and also to make sure that what information I put out there is secured. I have also learned to watch out for scams and to believe everything that I see online. (not everything is true or free) To sum up all of our projects were well put together and I have learned a little from this experience.

  8. Watching my classmates present in front of everyone was very enjoyable. We all have been working on this project for a while and learning about other people’s topic was very interesting. Watching everyone talk about their topic and showing their video shows how much hard work we all put into our presentation. I learned to always be careful on the internet and to always be cautious because of scams or websites not being secured. These projects are important for the future for safety on the internet.

  9. From this experience, I learned that while the internet is very helpful, it can also be a very dangerous place. I learned from Digital commerce that while the internet can help us buy things online, but if you are not careful you can get scammed or your identity stolen. I also learned that Digital Security is you being safe online and making sure you can't get hacked or scammed. I also learned from Digital Communication that sometime messages can be taken a different way it was suppose to be. Overall i learned that i have to be careful and safe online.

  10. I enjoyed watching and listening to my classmates presentations. It was entertaining to learn about other people's topics and opinions regarding it. All our topics related in some way, through the internet. Others presentations helped open my eyes to be more mindful online. Although the internet can be fun and gratifying, it can also be dangerous. Overall, I believe that my classmates presented really well and not only informed, but entertained. The Google site, survey, and video showed the extreme amount of effort we all put in.

  11. Watching my classmates' presentation was fun and informative. Mixed with their creativity, I learned how to make wise decisions when it comes to my personal information and what on the internet not to associate with. All groups appeared to be well informed about their topic and acted it out well in their short films. Overall, the presentations were nice and displayed the hard work each group put into this project.

  13. I enjoyed watching my peers develop their own websites and videos on digital safety. They made learning about something I’m not usually interested in into a comical approach. I’ve learned a lot from this experience and I will definitely be taking some more technology precautions from now on.

  14. I would like to put it out there that I really enjoyed this experiment and how we as a class could create operating websites. I think the best part of the project was all of our presentations. I would say that is the best part to me because we were able to understand what was behind the meaning our classmates chose. Also because of how everyone was enjoying themselves, while we were watching the presentations we were all laughing and having a great time. Which is something that I will never forget and I hope to always look back and have fond memories of this activity.
